Our Martha’s Vineyard client had a vision for an upscale restaurant with a coastal vibe inspired by its local seafood menu. We created a light and airy design with refined touches and a soft palette using gray and white tones throughout. A custom zinc bar top and stained white oak floors add natural elements, while the relocated two-story stairwell allows for open seating on the first floor that feels both elegant and relaxed. Pendants diffuse soft light throughout both levels for an intimate dining experience. We worked with a custom lighting designer to fabricate the two-story chandelier we designed. This piece is made of individual blown-glass orbs independently suspended at varying heights which created a statement fixture that wouldn’t overpower the space. Each orb is filled with drizzled glass fibers, adding texture and interest while still maintaining an airy, ethereal essence. Their warm glow is reminiscent of bubbles in an excellent glass of champagne, and adds to the design’s chic ambiance.
