Why High Point Market Matters to Me—And to Every Project We Design
Twice a year, I find myself both exhilarated and deeply grounded by my experience at High Point Market, where the global interior design industry gathers into one powerful hub of inspiration, connection and insight. For me—and for our GSI team—this prestigious event is far more than a professional obligation—it’s a strategic investment in vision, knowledge and excellence for our clients to bring fresh energy back to our work at Glenna Stone Interiors.

Design is never static. Our promise to deliver timeless, tailored interiors that inspire joy and support wellbeing means we must stay well ahead of the curve. Attending Market allows me to meet face-to-face with senior leadership at our trusted vendors, explore the newest luxury furnishings firsthand, and deepen the business relationships that enhance our ability to advocate for our clients.

Being deeply ingrained in the industry provides critical insights into the direction of emerging products and materials. From manufacturing innovations and lead time updates to previews of trends likely to shape the next 12–24 months, my team walked away with a sharper grasp of the product development lifecycle which allows us to communicate more effectively with our vendor partners and manage client expectations with transparency and precision. It helps us better share how a piece is made, why it’s worth waiting for, or what sustainable practices are behind the sourcing, construction, finish or fabric—to ensure every selection we make has integrity behind it.

Beyond product and process, having a significant presence at Market demonstrates to our partners how seriously we take our role. Whether we’re attending private showroom tours, joining roundtable dinners with industry leaders, or walking factory floors to better understand craftsmanship and quality control, every moment reinforces our commitment to excellence. These experiences demonstrate to manufacturers that we are dedicated to the craft, deeply invested in the art of interior design and steadfast in advocating for our clients in every step of the journey.

Our time at Market isn’t only about what we discover, but also about what we contribute. I was honored to speak on a panel again this year, sharing insights with fellow designers about building a strong, resilient business in today’s changing landscape. I believe in contributing to the industry in meaningful ways, especially during challenging times. Supporting vendors, engaging with peers, and championing innovation are part of my responsibility to the broader design community—and something I truly value.

Beyond products and production, what I bring back from High Point is perspective. Real conversations with colleagues, many of whom we only see at events like this, spark ideas that we carry forward into every project. Seeking out and supporting these opportunities for our team to learn, grow and lead fuels the evolution of our work.

I invest in these high-level interactions and immersive educational experiences for my team and me so that we remain at the forefront of design and to service our clients at the highest level—bringing ideal resources and broader vision to elevate each home we design with intention, beauty and heart.
