Heritage Winery Haddonfield
When the Heritage family asked us to design their newest location, the William Heritage Winery Haddonfield tasting room, we were thrilled. Our design for the original Mullica Hill tasting room was such a unique experience, and we couldn’t wait to work together again! This offered the opportunity to take the foundational design we created in the original space and build on it in the context of the bustling Haddonfield shopping and dining district.
The design concept
For this tasting room, we wanted to design a space that married continuity with the Mullica Hill location with a more boutique feel. Downtown Haddonfield is a trove of small businesses, restaurants, specialty shops, and more. With so much personality and history surrounding the new location, we wanted to create a strong street presence. The lounge-y, inviting seating area in the front draws passerby closer, and we’ve heard from several people how much they love this low-slung leather chair in the large window!
Much like the Mullica Hill tasting room, our concept centered on light, clean, modern, and natural elements. By mixing wood and metal tones we created refined depth and dimension, and then layered in colored accents for a subtle pop. Thoughtfully selected lighting and mirrors brighten the space and draw you in.
The back of the space is an intimate seating area with a wood trellis concept overhead. Natural light streams through the skylight above and evokes the feeling of sitting in a vineyard with friends. A curved banquette and counter stools offer different seating options for the groups who reserve the private space.
Linking Heritage Winery Haddonfield to the Heritage estate tasting room in Mullica Hill
As noted above, we designed the Haddonfield tasting room with its own personality, influenced by location and surrounding. However, strengthening the link to the Mullica Hill estate winery was key. The design isn’t just a design; the design reflects and enhances the Heritage brand. Intentional details reinforce this, from the same bar countertops to the similarity in wood tones. We echoed the copper logo with copper stools and the custom mesh display inserts. Ultimately, the goal was not to duplicate, but rather to relate – like sisters, not twins.
The details
With every GSID project, the design is in the details, and Heritage Haddonfield was no different. We selected fixtures and finishes that elevated the boutique feel of the space without feeling fussy. For instance, the simple pendants over the bar are elegantly clean and modern. The wooden shades play off of the wood-framed mirrors, the floors, and the tables. We’re so smitten with them! Interior design wall art is a crucial element of any well-designed home or commercial space. It can serve as the focal point of a room, providing an eye-catching statement piece that ties together the overall aesthetic. From minimalist abstract pieces to large-scale murals, there are endless options that can elevate any interior space. Ultimately, the right Wall Art choice sets the tone for the entire interior design scheme in terms of color palette and theme – making it one of the most important decisions when designing any environment.
The details come together for a sophisticated, warm space. Every selection was intentional, thoughtful, and meant to embody the William Heritage Winery brand. Cheers to that!
