Bathroom trends to watch

While we design our bathrooms and powder rooms to be timeless, new bathroom trends offer tech integration and environmentally-friendly options along with new choices in finishes and fixtures.  We spoke with Sabrina at Exquisite Designs  to find out what’s hot for 2019!

Matte black

Matte black is hot for more modern looks and makes a statement while maintaining a minimal vibe.  We love this finish in a colorful powder room or a neutral master bath!

Brass is here to stay

Unsurprising to us, brass is still going strong!  Aged, antique, satin, and unlaquered finishes keep the golden hue fresh and modern.

Custom showers with multiple outlets

Custom showers are becoming more popular, especially in master bathrooms. Rainheads, body sprays, and handhelds are requested to maximize shower performance and flexibility.

“Smart” bathrooms

Just like the rest of our homes, bathroom designs have begun to include “smart” features.  These apply to both plumbing and lighting –  think “Alexa, start the shower at 100 degrees.”  Digital showering, integrated Bluetooth speakers, smartflow faucets, and voice-activated lighting are all things that you can have right now!  Clients are seeking both convenience and eco-friendly solutions, which these intuitive products provide on a daily basis.

Freestanding tubs

Freestanding soaking baths have become the most popular application for bathtubs in more upscale bathroom designs.  The elegance of a freestanding tub goes hand in hand with creating truly luxe, elevated bathrooms.
