Bucks County First Floor Reveal
We’re incredibly excited to share our Bucks County first floor reveal! This project encompassed the whole home for a blended family, with the goal of making it truly reflective of who they are. By creating statement spaces as well as livable, family-friendly areas, we designed a beautiful, welcoming, and happy home for all to enjoy. Come take a tour with us, and stay tuned for the second floor!
Our Bucks County First Floor Reveal
With three children and a dog, life for our clients is certainly busy. They love to travel and entertain, and are wine connoisseurs. While they wanted unique and sculptural elements, we needed to balance that with family-friendly design. We also struck a happy medium between the modern farmhouse style of the home with their personal aesthetic, which leans more modern and contemporary.
Friends who enter the front door are greeted by the spacious foyer, with a blend of visual texture in lighting, furniture, and art. It feels elevated but welcoming. They will likely be met by the family dog, either bounding down the stairs or tapping her way in from the kitchen.
The formal dining room off of the entry features a statement chandelier, enhanced by a pair of sconces flanking the sideboard and a textured wallcovering. This is a space designed for dinner parties and wine tastings.
The living room, on the opposite side of the foyer, offers a chic setting for pre-dinner conversation. Antiqued mirrors accent one wall, with curved seating that ups the cozy factor. The strong blues are soothing and sophisticated.
The gallery at the back of the foyer features a console with a mirror above that bounces more of the natural light throughout the space. Again, we focused on contemporary and modern touches with visual texture to define the space.
Across from the gallery, a game room is the perfect place to gather as a family or with friends. Bold blue stools nestle beneath the marble bar, while comfortable swivel chairs surround the table, making it ideal for everything from cards to board games.
The gallery leads to the spacious, open plan kitchen, breakfast room, and family room. This is the most family-oriented area of the home, designed to handle the day-to-day needs of this busy family. We always say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and this is no exception. The large island offers room for the kids to grab a snack and catch up on the day, or to serve as a buffet for appetizers while entertaining in the family room.
The breakfast room’s cozy banquette and spacious table provide the setting for everyday family meals. Thanks to the vaulted ceiling and streamlined chandelier, the space feels even larger and brighter.
The family room features an oversized, comfy sectional that’s big enough to accommodate the whole family. We added stools for versatile seating, and the large windows make the space feel warm and cheerful as sunlight beams in. The wood burning fireplace adds a sense of coziness.
The family most frequently uses the mudroom to come and go, and we gave this hardworking space a boost with a fun wallpaper. We added a bench that both visually anchors the space and serves multiple functions, such as resting shopping bags or taking off shoes.
We hope you’ve enjoyed taking this tour with us through this incredible project! Stay tuned for part two when we walk you through the second floor. What is your favorite room on the first floor of this home? Let us know in the comments!
