Bucks County Second Floor Reveal

We’ve already shared the first floor, and now it’s time for our Bucks County second floor reveal.  While the first floor’s design focuses on gathering and entertaining, the second floor is more of a sanctum for this blended family.  Here, we took our lead from what each member wanted from their personal spaces and tailored the rooms to fit them perfectly.

Our Bucks County Second Floor Reveal

As you take the stairs to the second floor, you notice a striking chandelier that feels like a work of art.  A contemporary console table anchors the upper landing.  With a few key design details, we made a statement in this transitional space.

Artistic lighting throughout the home adds a unique element

In the primary bedroom, soft tones create a sense of serene sophistication.  Quietly luxurious touches in the textured wallpaper, custom bed, and elegant bench elevate this space.  Overall, it’s a calm and restful space for winding down after a busy day.

A soothing palette and layers of texture offer a sense of sanctuary

The adjacent sitting room is equally tranquil, with a watercolor-inspired wallpaper mural that wraps around the space.  Cozy seating and an upholstered ottoman add softness.  We envisioned this as a space for relaxing and enjoying hobbies, like reading and playing guitar.

The sitting room is a quiet spot for relaxing away from the busy household

We designed the children’s bedrooms with consideration for their likes and tastes.  It was important to our clients that their kids should have input into their respective rooms.

For their older daughter, we created a classic, neutral space accented with pops of soft blues and greens.  Pattern and texture in the furnishings, rug, and window treatments add subtle visual interest.  It’s a room that suits her now as a teenager and will stand the test of time as she moves through young adulthood and beyond.

The colors and textures strike the right tone for a teen moving into her college years

Thoughtfully selected pieces like the bedroom bench and nightstands with pull-out trays blend function and style

By contrast, their son’s bedroom features deeper colors against a tonal, geometric wallpaper.  Dark wood tones hint at a more masculine aesthetic for this teen.  We designed it with our signature sense of timelessness to suit him in the years ahead.

A mix of materials and textures lend a polished tone to a teen’s space

Their younger daughter has a sweet room best described as “pretty in pink.”  A palette of blush, cream, and gray feels feminine but not fussy.  Our selections in wallpaper, upholstery, and case goods were made to suit her as she grows from a preteen to a young woman.

We hope you’ve enjoyed touring our Bucks County project as much as we enjoyed designing it.  Which second floor space is your favorite?  Let us know in the comments!
