Tranquility Base: Gladwyne Home Reveal, Part 2

In December, we showed you the first floor of the Gladwyne home with its showstopping public rooms and relaxed family gathering spots. To kick off 2024, come upstairs to see the sublime and sweet private spaces we created for this vibrant family.

Sanctuary of Delights

Everything about the primary bedroom speaks to quiet luxury. It was designed as a retreat for the body, mind and soul.

The elevated primary suite is a study in luxurious tranquility. From the color palette to the curvaceous and oh-so-tactile furnishings, to the bedroom fireplace, every inch beckons you to relax, calm your mind, and finally (*sigh*) enjoy the moment. Our design decisions were driven by the concepts of peace and ease as the homeowners have three active youngsters and incredibly busy schedules. They need a respite where comfort and connection are paramount.

Can We Stop for a Cappuccino?

Talk about a treat! From your morning cuppa to an evening herbal wind-down, the beverage bar serves it all. And the amount of additional storage that it has tucked between the bedroom and bath, well, that’s just another pick-me-up.

Ditch the drive-thru, keep the car in the garage. Our homeowners need only to walk a few feet to the best coffee house in the neighborhood. Situated between the bedroom and main bath, we  nestled a custom beverage bar complete with its own small sink and espresso station with a bounty of extra storage. The bold, jewel-toned metallic wallcovering separates this space from the understated tones of the bedroom and the airy spa bath ahead.

Beauty and the Bath

The custom vanity with the shower room immediately behind it sit across from the soaker tub. A tryptic mirror with mounted modern sconces helps cast light throughout the room.

This primary bathroom is the definition of luxury. Whether our homeowners desire to draw a bath, soak under the shower, or freshen their faces, there’s a fantastic and functional space for every need. The extra-deep freestanding tub anchors one side of the bath while the marble-clad shower is tucked behind the custom break-front vanity.  A dressing table is illuminated with an eye-catching wall-mounted unlacquered brass fixture.

Wherever you turn, there’s elegance and well thought-out functionality.

Youth Culture

We love outfitting interiors for toddler, kids and teens. We can open our creativity to whimsy and imagination. We can facilitate space planning for play, study, and hobbies. We build in all the functionality needed for their rooms to grow as they do. And, from a budgetary perspective, it is sensible to have these low-investment, high-return spaces completed while we are engaged in the larger renovation.

Safari glamping with a side of imagination for the little girl’s room.

For the little girl in the family, we brought in soft, happy colors that lean into a fun, safari theme. There’s even a reading area by the window to keep our little client learning, growing, and creating new ideas and dreams.

A View with a Room

The perfect private retreat for the family, the balcony offers up treehouse-like views amid ultimate comfort.

To close out our tour, may we invite you to join us on the upstairs balcony as we soak in the sunset? A private outside space is an idyll for our fast-paced family.  We kitted this one out with a variety of seating options and layers of patterns anchored by the warm wood tones. The second-floor location ensures a bit of quietude with spectacular views.

Thanks again to this wonderful family. They are a joy to know and work with. We hope you love your home as much as we enjoyed designing it for you!
