Design Details: Revolution Fabrics

Today we’re excited to share more about one of our favorite fabric vendors, Revolution Fabrics!  With its beauty, durability, and environmentally friendly practices, there’s a lot to love about Revolution.  Let’s talk about how Revolution Fabrics are made and why it’s a go-to for our projects.

Revolution Fabric’s mission

Without getting too scientific (this is a design blog, after all!), we wanted to explain how Revolution Fabrics are created.  While the fabrics are synthetic, they’re also green.  They’re made by using an upcycled, existing byproduct of petroleum refining that would otherwise be waste.  The fibers are inherently stain-resistant and don’t require additional treatments.

So, what does that mean for our clients?  Well, when we use Revolution, they’re getting a product with a low carbon footprint and without chemical emissions.  This is especially important when children and pets are involved, since we all know that they get into everything.  Not only do the fabrics hold up under the beating they take, but they’re also a sustainable option.

Why we love Revolution

We’ve used Revolution on about 50% of our projects.  It’s so perfect for breakfast table chairs, island stools, and kitchen banquette upholstery.  However, don’t let the stain-resistant nature of the fabric fool you; the weaves and textures have a great tactile quality and don’t look or feel like performance fabric.  They also offer a wide variety of neutrals, making them ideal for designs from traditional to modern.  If neutrals aren’t your thing, add a dash of color like our Wyndmoor clients did with the upholstered ottoman in their family room.

Revolution’s quality is matched by a reasonable price point, and their customer service is excellent.  We can attest that when it comes to design, solid vendor partnerships are an enormous asset to both us and our clients.  Because the fabrics are manufactured here in the U.S., lead times are usually quick which means that we’re able meet client timeline expectations.

If that isn’t enough to convince you, here’s a direct quote from a client: “Love this fabric on our dining chairs – it’s bullet proof with our little kids!”
