Design field trip: Max fun at Minima
We love a design field trip! Recently, Glenna, Michelle, and Olivia had the chance to visit local gem Minima. This chic, modern showroom in the heart of Old City is a fantastic resource for the Philadelphia design community!
Our design field trip at Minima
The main purpose of the tour was to learn about the showroom as a whole as well as viewing the pieces and quality that they offer. We’ve certainly missed these design tours over the past couple of years, and it was wonderful to be able to see the space in person! This isn’t just educational for the GSID team, but also allows us to engage with the design community right here at home as well as offer existing and future clients an even broader selection.

Some of the highlights and most notable pieces were casegoods and storage. Completely customizable storage systems in a variety of configurations and finishes have so much possibility! Whether tailored towards home entertainment systems, clothing storage, or work stations, the sky is the limit. Glenna particularly liked the craftsmanship and quality, along with the flexibility of wall units. For clients looking to maximize their options in spaces like home offices, media rooms, and guest bedrooms, these are fantastic.

Michelle noted that the showroom represents very modern pieces that aren’t typical of most GSID designs, but offers more selection for clients who lean a bit more contemporary/modern or want something really unique.

What did we learn from our design tour at Minima?
First and foremost, it’s so important to us to connect with resources, vendors, and artisans here in Philadelphia. Our design community is tight-knit, and we have a wealth of creativity and unique products to offer our clients right here. These kinds of visits also keep us on the cutting edge of trends, solutions, and inspiration, and we get to bring all of that knowledge and creativity back to the rest of the team!
