Summer is the perfect time to reveal our East Avenue mudroom, especially since it opens directly to the fabulous backyard pool area! While we designed it for year-round function (and our clients’ busy family), it really shines during pool season.
Style + Function: Our East Avenue Mudroom
A mudroom is one of the most utilitarian spaces in a home, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be stylish! In order to make the most of the footprint for this mudroom, we designed custom cabinetry, drawers, and a bench with cubbies below. The white of the built-ins makes the space feel brighter and gets a pop of warmth from the walnut bench top and a run of walnut trim above the drawers.
Mudroom detail (and that pool!)
The contrasting black porcelain floor tile is durable enough for heavy foot traffic while adding a touch of sophistication, which is echoed in the contemporary flat black cabinet and drawer pulls. It’s the details like these, along with chic brass sconces, that give the space an added wow factor! Plus, it looks just as fab from the outside.
Of course, all of that beautiful storage comes in handy for tucking away everything from pool toys to towels, along with jackets and boots for the inevitable end of summer.
