Our East Chestnut Hill reveal

We’re thrilled to share our East Chestnut Hill reveal with you! Our clients moved into their new home with a toddler and plans for growing their family, and wanted a blend of style and livability in their most-used spaces. Phase one of their redesign included the entry, living room, kitchen and breakfast room, home office, and primary bedroom.  Take a tour with us through this beautiful home.

Our East Chestnut Hill project reveal

The entry is a long hall with a beautiful set of doors leading to the back patio, and anyone coming into the home is greeted by the fabulous natural light that floods through them.  A pretty, oversized mirror flanked by elegant sconces bounces that light throughout, making it appear even larger and brighter.  The neutral runner grounds the space and creates a welcoming entrance.

The entry hall fills with natural light and feels fresh and welcoming

In the living room, we maximized seating.  This room doubles as a family room for watching for TV and also for entertaining so we knew that they would spend a great deal of time in this space. Two sofas and a pair of armchairs offer room to get comfortable, while natural light beams through multiple sets of French doors that lead to an outdoor patio.  We framed the view with long long operable drapery panels that can be used to control the light when needed.

A mix of welcoming seating options in clean lines allow the architectural details to shine

We accessorized the existing built-ins with an eye towards making them feel personal and reflective of our clients’ interests and hobbies. The neutral palette, accented with pops of blue, is fresh and clean with a timelessness that complements the historical touches in the architectural details.

The existing built-ins were painted to contrast against the white walls for visual interest

The office was transformed through the selection of deep blue paint for the built-ins, millwork, and walls because the client enjoys working in a darker, moodier atmosphere.  Custom window treatments with blackout shades are stylish and allow for light control.

The rich blue paint on the walls and built-ins creates a sense of cohesion

Thoughtfully-accessorized built-ins provide the perfect background for frequent virtual meetings, while a comfortable leather sofa is ideal for taking a break.  (It’s also the preferred nap spot for the family’s sweet dog.)

Every home office should have a comfortable seating area

This young family spends a lot of time in their kitchen, and fell in love with the window seat that wraps around the breakfast nook, overlooking the backyard.  With an eye towards ease and comfort, we designed a custom oval table – so easy to scoot around when claiming a spot – with a quartzite top for durability.

The oval breakfast table is casual, chic, and functional for a growing family

Finally, the primary bedroom is a sanctuary with a soft, soothing palette of creams and blues.  We designed a custom cushion for the window seat here, which is deep and offers the perfect spot to relax.  More original built-ins frame the view, with a cozy reading corner complete with an armchair and ottoman, which has become the perfect knitting spot for our client.

With a cozy reading corner and a deep window seat overlooking the backyard, this is the perfect space for relaxation

The custom king bed offers respite after a long day, with space-saving custom nightstands and sconces on either side.  It’s truly a room built for dreams, and we foresee many happy ones in their future.

We paired custom space-saving nightstands and sconces with a custom king bed for maximum livability

We can’t pick a favorite space in this fabulous home; can you?  Let us know in the comments!
