Host gift guide – Summer 2019

Summer is officially underway, and it’s a prime time for getting together with friends and family.  No good guest shows up empty handed, but our host gift guide will make you the most popular invitee at any soiree this summer!

Summer 2019 – Host gift guide

For a weekend at the beach

Somehow, beach towels always seem to be in short supply.  They get left behind at the beach, dropped in the pool, or simply worn out.  If you’ve been invited to stay at someone’s shore house, bring a couple of Turkish towels to add to their stash.  We love the slightly faded style from Pottery Barn – so beachy!

For a backyard BBQ

Summer means idyllic days, balmy nights, laughing children…and mosquitoes.  Yes, these bloodsuckers have the ability to take the fun out of that cookout.  Come to the rescue by bringing a package of Madison James flyaway sticks.  These highly-rated smudge sticks keep the party going and bite-free.  Best of all, unlike candles, they can be tucked into planters, flower beds, grass, or pretty much anywhere your host can fit them!

For a camping trip

If you’re asked to go camping, chances are that your hosts have the essentials already.  Come prepared with that ubiquitous campfire snack, s’mores!  A set of telescoping toasting forks ensure perfectly toasted marshmallows.  Don’t forget to pack the chocolate bars and graham crackers, and leave the forks as a “thank you” for their hospitality.

For a pool party

Don’t just roll up to the pool party with a cardboard six-pack in hand.  Take it to the next level by stashing your drinks in a stylish, vintage-inspired cooler!  Best of all, its portability means it can go from deck to poolside with ease.  Your host will love the gift of an extra cooler that they don’t have to lug around, and will toast your thoughtfulness each time they use it at a picnic, game, or concert.

For an evening picnic

Some people are renowned for their homemade guac or pasta salad, while others leave it to the pros and grab it ready made.   Whether you fall into the former category or the latter, show up in style with a dip bowl duo!  These melamine bowls fit small and medium grocery store containers, so you can pop your store-bought hummus right in and enjoy.  We believe that no one can ever have too many bowls, which makes these a perfect gift!  (If you’re local, you can grab these at Pineapple on Main on your way to the picnic.)
