How we’re getting ready for fall

As summer draws to a close, the usual “back to normal” looks different in 2020.  Most of us spend this time prepping for back to school, taking jackets and boots out of storage, and getting ready for fall sports and activities.  However, if we’ve learned anything since March, it’s that 2020 is the year of the curveball.  None of us can predict exactly what the coming months will bring, but we wanted to share how we’re getting ready for fall this year at GSID!

Getting ready for fall – 2020 edition

The best way for us to prepare for a wide range of circumstances involves planning.  If you’re familiar with Glenna Stone Interior Design, you know that we are meticulous planners.  We develop and utilize our processes to create a smooth design experience for our clients, which served us incredibly well when we went into “stay at home” status in March.  Our team was able to pivot seamlessly to working fully from home, and we expanded our virtual design options as well.

Once restrictions were lifted in May and June, we went back to a modified normal with masks and distancing, keeping up with Zoom calls and continuing with virtual designs and consultations.  As a result, we’ve been able to keep moving full steam ahead!

With that being said, we don’t know what the fall will bring.  We’re prepared to shift gears however we need to in the coming months to ensure that we deliver the highest standard of service with flexibility and skill.

Communication

Strong communication is at the core of everything we do.  Whether it’s reviewing selections with clients, establishing timelines with our vendors, or meeting internally, having open dialogue ensures that we’re all on the same page and don’t lose momentum.  It also keeps us connected, and that’s really the most important thing.  We’re always an email, Zoom, or phone call away.

Prioritizing relationships

Speaking of connection, we always want our clients to know that this isn’t just about business for us.  We’ve been invited into their homes and entrusted with their most intimate spaces, and we value that so highly.  We’ve seen them through big moves, career changes, new babies, and unexpected losses.  To us they’re family, and we strive to make them feel supported in any way that we can, even if it’s not related to their project.  When times get tough, we want them to know they can count on us.

Maintaining our relationships

Meeting clients where they are

All of this leads us to the most important preparation for the fall as a firm: meeting our clients where they are.  Throughout the pandemic, most of us have been doing the best we can.  Many people continue to work from home, and schools locally and nationally are beginning the year with virtual and hybrid options.  We’re here to make the design and renovation process fit easily into your circumstances, no matter what they are.  We can drop off a GSID bundle at your doorstep so that you can see the fabrics and finishes we’ve selected without meeting in person, or schedule a FaceTime call around the kids’ virtual school and your Zoom meetings.  We’ll even help you turn a closet into a home office if that’s what you need – I designed one in the studio for Nicole and it’s pretty fabulous!  We’re here for you, wherever you are, and we’re ready to solve those pain points and give you peace of mind.

So, that’s what we’re doing to prepare for the fall and whatever it throws at us.  How can we help you get ready?
