East Chestnut Hill
When our clients moved into their new home in Chestnut Hill with a toddler and plans for growing their family, they wanted a blend of style and livability, identifying the first floor and primary suite as priorities. The entry is a long hall with a beautiful set of doors leading to the back patio that allows natural light to flood the space. In the living room, we maximized the seating for family moments as well as entertaining. Two walls of existing beautiful built-ins were painted an accent color and accessorized to make them personal and reflective of the family’s interests and hobbies. An office was transformed through the selection of a deep blue paint color for a darker, moodier atmosphere. With the kitchen being the hub of the home, we knew a window seat would be a beautiful spot for the family to dine and designed a custom oval table with a quartzite top, sized perfectly for the bay window in the breakfast nook. Finally, the primary bedroom has a soft, soothing palette of creams and blues. The window, fireplace, and built-ins created a challenging furniture layout. To implement the perfect furniture plan, we designed a bed flanked by a pair of custom nightstands, allowing the original built-ins to frame the view.
The right palette makes objects approach or recede, leaving you endless possibilities for orchestrating layered interactions.
