West Chestnut Hill

When our clients and their young children moved into this traditional all-stone residence, they wanted their new home to reflect their personal aesthetic through a mix of old and new. Focusing on the 2nd and 3rd floors, they wanted a playroom to be fit for both children and adults. The artwork above a convertible sofa for guests is bright and happy. Wallpaper with stylized clouds and birds in flight adds a cheerful, bright touch. Inside the closet, floating book rails provide a reading nook with a mirror hanging at the perfect height for playing dress up. The primary bedroom is a restful sanctuary. Custom bed linens, along with a tailored bench at the foot of the bed, lend touches of sophistication. The botanic-inspired chandelier, with its silver leaf finish, is unexpected and playful but with an elegance that fits beautifully with the overall interior design. In the adjacent dressing room, vibrant colors create a contrast to the serenity of the bedroom. We added a dressing table and chair with an eclectic mirror above for interest. Finally, the custom ottoman with its bold magenta trim serves as a functional accent piece and ties into the energetic tones of the area rug.

When a home is all about nurturing the imagination, everything becomes an opportunity to play with unexpected combinations.
