Is green the new blue?

While jewel tones are still going strong (as we noted at last year’s visits to High Point Market), we’ve noticed a shift away from blue.  Quite a few of our current projects have strong green elements.  So, is green the new blue?  We think so!

In our own projects, clients are turning towards color more and more, particularly shades of green.  We love all of the inspiration that we’ve found as we refine their designs.  With so much fabulous inspo, it’s easy being green!

Tile

There’s never been a better time to go bold with your backsplash.  We’ve enjoyed seeing beautiful green options in tile for bathrooms, mudrooms, and laundry rooms as well.  Whether you like a rustic, patterned cement tile or a glossy, chic subway tile, there’s something for everyone.  How stunning is this emerald design from Ann Sacks that we are using in a current restaurant project?!

Walls

If you want to make even more of a statement, consider adding a pop of green to your walls.  For a softer look, explore sage and mint tones; if you prefer a moody vibe, a rich forest green would be right up your alley.  We’ve selected both paint and wallpaper for a few clients in green tones, and one project includes this Phillip Jeffries‘  “Agate” in emerald for their powder room.  We can’t wait to see that space once it’s complete!

Furniture and cabinetry

Of course, green is popping up in furniture – seating and case goods alike – as well as cabinetry and millwork.  A pair of upholstered chairs in our Wyndmoor client’s home office (seen in our header photo) make a sophisticated statement in moss greenOn the cabinetry side, we’re painting a client’s office wet bar in a fabulous shade of deep green.  It’s going to look amazing!
