Mr. Brown London Showroom
While we were at High Point Market, we had the opportunity to spend a few hours at the beautiful Mr. Brown London showroom to prepare for our Instagram takeover of their account. It was such a lovely visit, and we spied so many incredible pieces during our tour!
Behind the scenes at the Mr. Brown London showroom
When the chance arose to partner with Mr. Brown London during Market, we were thrilled! We arrived at the Mr. Brown showroom and got an exclusive tour of the newest introductions. This showroom visit was different from others, because sometimes High Point is a whirlwind and we’re trying to see everything that we can. However, our objective here was scoping out everything that we wanted to show off on behalf of Mr. Brown. Seeing everything from a behind-the-scenes point of view was such a cool experience, and we’re so grateful to Kelsey, Hayli, and the Mr. Brown team for the opportunity!
Our Mr. Brown experience
One of the most wonderful things about the Mr. Brown London showroom is that it feels like a beautiful, upscale boutique. One of the things that made the collection unique was its subtle midcentury inspiration, mix of materials and tailored lines for a fresh vibe. We also spied geometric themes like circles, hexagons, and stripes, paired with curved chair backs, benches, and desk corners. Contrasting cording and piping highlighted the tailored silhouettes, and several pieces were finished with tapered wood or metal accents for that tailored, elevated feel. Don’t think that this translated to stiff or stuffy, though. Everything was comfortable with a lounge-y vibe that made us feel right at home, and we confess that we could have stayed for far longer!
Fabrics and finishes: that extra touch
At Glenna Stone Interior Design, we’re all about the details. One of the things that we love the most about Mr. Brown London is that they feel the same! What struck us most as we toured the showroom was the incredible attention to detail in fabrics and finishes.
We talk a lot about our love for fabrics here on the blog, and Mr. Brown is on the same wavelength! Velvet was popular, and the color palette featured elegant tones combining depth with softness. Speaking of fabric, one of the most delightful details are drawers lined with fabric and suede in desks and dressers. It’s these bespoke touches that really set the pieces apart.
Another star of the Mr. Brown London showroom this market? White gesso, a matte textured finish that graced beds, desks, bookcases, cabinets, and side tables. Texture is one of the design elements that Mr. Brown does so very well, and adds the perfect amount of visual interest to each piece without being overdone. Ribbed drawer fronts, honeycombed cabinet doors, and carved bedposts struck a unique note.
Mixed materials were our other big takeaway, in particular metals and woods. They struck the perfect note on tables, chairs, and beds. We can’t stop thinking about the metal bed and the way that the hammered gold texture and warmth to the overall feel.
