Our New Hope Farmhouse in Bucks County Magazine

We have another exciting feature to share: our New Hope Farmhouse in Bucks County Magazine!  The beauty of the New Hope area, with its historic homes and picturesque landscape, inspires us on each project.  We love creating spaces that blend clients’ wants and needs with the unique elements of their homes.

Over the past 250 years, this Colonial farmhouse has grown from the original structure, which is now the center of the home, to a larger but still cozy property on what remains a working farm.  While our clients had added onto the home when they first moved in over two decades ago, they came to us to solve a few aesthetic and functional pain points.  The owner love to cook and entertain, but found the existing layout to be unwieldy and the overall feeling dark and enclosed.  We met the challenge of modernizing and brightening the kitchen, pantry, and family room while staying true to the original style of the home.  Combinations of wood, metal, and stone tie into the architecture, like the fabulous exposed beams and stone walls, and ground the design. Through the use of these natural materials, we not only pay homage to the history of the home, but also create a truly timeless look.

Layered livability in the family room

Every finish, fabric, color, and material was chosen with this thoughtful intent in mind.  In the article, we discuss how layering and texture was key to creating timelessness and livability throughout the spaces.  Click the link to the article to see even more photos and read more about how our design approach and process gave our clients a home that they can both enjoy themselves and share with others!
