East Chestnut Hill

Our clients moved into their new home with a toddler and plans for growing their family, and wanted a blend of style and livability in their most-used spaces.  They identified much of the first floor along with the primary bedroom as priorities for the first phase of their project.

The entry is a long hall with a beautiful set of doors leading to the back patio that allow natural light to flood the space.  In the living room, we maximized seating to accommodate guess for entertaining and hanging out as a family. This space also had two walls of beautiful built-ins, so we accessorized them with an eye towards making them feel personal and reflective of their interests and hobbies.  The office was transformed through the selection of deep blue paint for the built-ins, millwork, and walls because the client enjoys working in a darker, moodier atmosphere.  Custom window treatments with blackout shades are stylish and allow for light control.

This young family spends a lot of time in their kitchen, and fell in love with the window seat that wraps around the breakfast nook.  A custom oval table features a quartzite top, sized perfectly for this bay window.

Finally, the primary bedroom is a sanctuary with a soft, soothing palette of creams and blues.  The existing deep built-in under the window can double as a daybed and wears yet another custom piece — an ultra plush cushion. In order to fit a king bed into the existing proportions of the primary bedroom, we went the custom route, working to create the perfect size and shape for the space. The bed is flanked by a pair of custom nightstands designed by GSID.  More original built-ins frame the view, with a cozy reading corner complete with an armchair and ottoman.
