West Chester

Our West Chester clients approached us with a need for an entire first floor redesign. The kitchen and breakfast room redesign was particularly integral with a total makeover from floor to ceiling, including an improved layout and reconfigured plan. Tailored details like the custom coffee bar with storage and specialized organization add improved functionality. For a couple that loves to entertain, we took a previously underutilized wall and turned it into a dream bar! The breakfast room is one of their favorite places in the house, so we had to make sure it was perfect. The round table feels more intimate and casual and most importantly, the beautiful view is the main focus.

Two steps down from the kitchen, the comfortable den is a place for relaxation. Mixed wood tones and neutral fabrics feel casual and inviting, with grays and blues that offer a soft contrast to the crisp whites. In the living room, the clients requested a fresh, airy palette, so we centered our design on a mix of creamy neutrals, crisp pops of white, and shades of blue. The most unique feature is a gallery of matted and framed custom vintage maps, each highlighting a place near and dear to the family. We enlarged the archway to the adjacent dining room for better flow while a new paperweave wallpaper adds depth and texture to the light-filled space.

The entry received a major upgrade with new hardwood flooring, floor to ceiling millwork, and fresh white paint that gives the space a bright openness. In addition, new railings, balusters and a new base post have a more sleek, updated style. A new stair runner and area rug complete the transformation. The adjoining home office has a distinctly masculine style with tall windows framed by custom drapes that take advantage of the light at the front of the house.
