Our clients with young children moved into this gorgeous house with a very traditional style, but wanted their new home to reflect their personal aesthetic through a mix of old and new. We made note of their goals and got to work!
In the playroom, artwork above the sofa – which converts to a queen bed for guests – is bright and happy. Wallpaper with stylized clouds and bright birds in flight adds a cheerful, elevated touch. Inside the closet, floating book rails offer a reading corner while a mirror hangs at the perfect height for playing dress up.
The primary bedroom offers a restful feeling of sanctuary. Custom bed linens along with a tailored bench at the foot of the bed lend touches of sophistication. The botanic-inspired chandelier with its silver leaf finish is a bit unexpected and playful, but with an elegance that fits beautifully with the overall design. In the adjacent dressing room, vibrant colors create a contrast to the serenity of the bedroom. We added a dressing table and chair with an eclectic mirror above for contrast. Finally, the custom ottoman with its bold magenta trim serves as a functional accent piece and ties into the energetic tones of the area rug.
