To make a vacation home feel truly yours, incorporate your own decorating style.  You don’t have to have a beach house full of nautical decor or a ski cabin with rustic furniture if you don’t want to!  Choose furniture, art, and accents that fit your personality and you’ll always feel at home.

Laidback living spaces

Whether you prefer to get away on your own or entertain lots of guests, we suggest making your living spaces comfortable.  Think sectionals, accent tables for beverages and snacks, and lots of pillows and throws for napping or movie nights.

Welcoming guest rooms

If you do enjoy a crowd, then attention to guest rooms is a must.  Crisp sheets, extra blankets, a nightstand with a lamp, and a dresser or chest for clothes will all make your guests feel relaxed and welcome.  Fresh flowers, bath towels, and toiletries in guests’ rooms add an extra touch.

Outdoor must haves

One of my favorite aspects of vacation homes are their outdoor areas – porches, patios, decks, and backyards.  One way to make the most of your outdoor space is to ensure that it’s at least partially covered, so that you can enjoy it no matter what the weather.  Outdoor showers are great after days at the beach or lake, and even post-biking and hiking.  Add a storage shed for beach gear, fishing rods, surf or snowboards, bikes, and anything else that you enjoy!

Vacation dining

When you’re on vacation, meals should be relaxed and fun.  A breakfast bar is a great spot for morning coffee while you plan your day, and bench seating makes your dining room feel casual and cozy.
