2019 Year End Recap

This has been a huge year for Glenna Stone Interior Design, and it only feels right to finish it with a look back at everything we’ve accomplished in the last 12 months.  Join us for a walk down memory lane in our 2019 year end recap!

Our 2019 in review

Our new (work) home

While we technically became tenants in December 2018, we were officially out of our former space on December 31st.  That meant that we began 2019 in our brand new showroom and studio.  Talk about a way to kick off the year!  With added details and touches, this has become a second home for all of us and we love coming to work every day.

We had synergy

Synergy Awards, that is!  In our first year as members of the Bucks-Montgomery County Home Builders Association, we crossed our fingers that we would win an award for one of our projects.  Imagine our shock when we brought home five!  We were truly thrilled and honored to have our work recognized by our peers in the building and design industry.  Our awards are are proudly displayed in our studio.  They’re a reminder of what we’ve accomplished together, as well as what we can achieve when we go the extra mile to exercise our talent, dedication, and skill.

Taking over at High Point Market

Both spring and fall Markets are a big deal in the design industry, and this year we did not just one Instagram takeover, but two!  For Spring Market, we took over the Mr. Brown Home account and shared our favorite pieces in their beautiful showroom.

At Fall Market, I took over the High Point Market Authority account (the official account of HPMKT) and shared my favorite finds and trends.  I’m still in love with the teal vellum bar cart I spied at Julian Chichester’s showroom!

In addition, I spoke on a designers’ panel at Leftbank Art about how art impacts design.  I enjoyed sharing my experiences and insights regarding artwork and its influence on the spaces that we create, as well as learning from my fellow panelists.  Every trip to High Point Market brings the opportunity to learn and grow, and bring knowledge and new connections back home to our work with our clients.

Be our guest

In May, we threw an open house to celebrate our new showroom!  Past and present clients mingled with friends and industry colleagues as we got the chance to welcome everyone to the new GSID.  Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without champagne and a buffet of light bites!  After months of hard work, it was wonderful to be able to share our beautiful space with so many people who supported and cheered for us along the way.

In October, we held a ladies’ night out with a pop up shop featuring other Chestnut Hill small businesses.  To finish out the year (and get into the holiday spirit), we hosted Springside Chestnut Hill Academy’s Stag & Doe Night open house in our showroom.  Stag & Doe is a Chestnut Hill tradition for the local businesses on Germantown Avenue, with shopping and restaurant specials on Wednesday nights in December.  We love having the opportunity to share our space for so many fun events, and look forward to more in 2020! Would like to give a shot to slot games? Before that, look at this article written by our friends working at fancasinos.in website. These specialists share their thoughts about Indian online slots with useful details regarding the finest games, providers, Return to Player percentage, and remaining important atributes. Besides, punters are to learn if it’s more profitable to play for real money or for free.

The “why” of it all

Of course, none of this would be possible without our wonderful clients.  In 2019, we not only served the most clients in a calendar year to date, but we also wrapped our largest commercial project and broke ground on our largest residential project as well!  Every project is special to us for its own reasons, whether we’re working with a new client or being invited back for another phase by previous clients.

Some of this year’s particular highlights are these projects – although we couldn’t include them all! – and we’ll have more to share after the new year.  We are truly grateful and honored to be invited into homes and businesses, and appreciate the trust that our clients place in us with each new project.

Hot off the press

Last but definitely not least, 2019 was a fantastic year for GSID with regards to both print and online features.  Whether it was a chat with Real Simple about our favorite shades of white paint, an interview with industry mag Kitchen & Bath Business about my career, or tips for a beautiful laundry room in the Washington Post, it was wonderful to talk about the things that I love about design.  Our clients were interviewed by the Philadelphia Inquirer for their Haven series, and talked about the things that make their Rittenhouse condo so very unique.  You can find all of our features on our press page here!

Thank you to our clients, our colleagues, our fellow design professionals, and our blog readers for a wonderful 2019.  We look forward to sharing many more fantastic projects, tips, and trends in 2020!
