Summer fun essentials
One of the things we love most about June through September is how much time we get to spend outside, making memories with friends and family. Whether you’re the neighborhood party house or you’re planning a fabulous vacation, we’ve got some summer fun essentials for you. Enjoy and live your best summer life this year with our picks!
Our five summer fun essentials for 2023
1) S’mores for everyone
S’mores are the quintessential summer camp treat, but there’s no denying they can get messy. That’s why we love this s’more roaster basket; you assemble your s’mores, place them in the basket, and then toast them over the flames until perfectly done! It’s great to use at home, or take to a party along with graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate for everyone to share.
Pro tip: if you’re traveling or tailgating, this Terraflame portable roaster features a bamboo serving tray for s’mores fixings and goes wherever you do.
2) Fun and games
A little friendly competition can be fun, and games are some of the best ways to pass the time at cookouts and beach days. Ladder ball (also known as ladder toss) is perfect because you can plant the ladders on almost any surface and the bolas are lightweight, which means the kids can play too. This black and white set is fun, stylish, and comes with a convenient carry bag. Have fun, will travel!
3) Treats to share
The tradeoff for hot summer days is the need to keep food cool. With genius serving pieces like a double walled hors d’oeuvres tray, your dips, fruit, and veggies will stay chilled and fresh thanks to the layer of ice you place in the bowl. Best of all, it’s easy to add more ice as needed, and the display is classically chic.
4) No bugging
One guest that no one wants at their summer gathering? Mosquitoes. Ensure everyone else’s comfort in the backyard or on the front porch with these mosquito repellent incense sticks, which have consistently great ratings across the internet. Say goodbye to middle of the night hunts for Benadryl or calamine lotion because the itching won’t let you sleep.
5) Raise a glass
We love the recent trend towards fun, non-alcoholic beverage options! You can make your own, refreshing, spa-style infused waters with fruit, vegetables, or herbs like mint. Another cool idea is to find a great zero-proof punch recipe for those who abstain but would enjoy something other than sparkling water to drink. Make it easy to self-serve with a large beverage dispenser – we’re partial to the Beau drink dispenser because the lid at the top makes it easy to refill, and the stand puts it at the perfect height for cups.
