High Point Market Spring 2019
High Point Market Spring 2019 is in the books! While it was a whirlwind as always, we loved every minute. Visiting so many showrooms lets us bring the newest and hottest trends directly to our clients. Wondering what’s on trend and about to go big? Keep reading!
High Point Market Spring 2019 Trends
Deep teal
Jewel tones continue to dominate, and we spied a lot of teal at Market. This moody marriage of blue and green adds beautiful depth to a space. We particularly love the sophisticated lines of this teal sofa from Arteriors. Paired with luxe brass accents, it lends such an intimate vibe!
Blush pink
On the flip side, we spotted the softness of blush pink in several showrooms and settings. The subtlety of this shade lends itself to both accents and furnishings without being overly fussy. Made Goods featured a lovely inlaid desk chair with a blush velvet upholstered seat, accompanied by an understated soft pink lamp on the desk.
Channel upholstery detailing
If you’ve been keeping an eye on trends and wondering, “am I sensing a 1980s vibe with an modern edge?” the answer is yes. We saw this influence in channel upholstery on everything from headboards to dining chairs to sofas (like that teal beautify from Arteriors above!). One really cool find was a collection of channel-inspired light fixtures at Visual Comfort. Choose from a sleek sconce, pendant, or flush mount to incorporate this trend in an even more eye-catching way!
Terrazzo tabletops
Terrazzo tabletops are hot as well and we think they’re here to stay. If you’re not familiar with this material, terrazzo is created when cement is combined with sand and either marble or granite chips. The result is a unique surface that can inspire other design elements in a room. That’s not limited to furnishings, but also artwork, accents, and even wallpaper. Century keeps it modern and fresh with a simple color palette of black, white, and pinks in this cocktail tabletop.
Kaleidoscope effect
Do you remember playing with a kaleidoscope as a kid and marveling at the shifting shapes as you turned the cylinder? Clearly, several of our favorite vendors are reliving those simpler days with artwork and accents featuring kaleidoscope patterns. We’re smitten because it’s such a cool play on color and visual texture that gives any space a pop. There’s something so pleasing about the symmetry of the designs. Add a couple of these Annie Selke linen pillows to your bedroom, living room, or family room for a fun touch!
Bonus trend: Florals
If you scroll back up to our header photo, you’ll notice that Bungalow5 featured not only blush pink and teal, but also a floral throw pillow. We can say with confidence that florals are still going strong, and we’ll be featuring some of our favorites in an upcoming blog post. Stay tuned for that!
