High Point Market Fall 2018: Interior Design Trends

After a great trip to the fall session of High Point Market, we’re feeling inspired by the newest interior design trends!  Want to know what’s up and coming?  Check out our roundup below!

Interior design trends for 2019

Blue case goods – Deep jewel tones are still hot; spring market’s emerald and hunter greens have found a companion in fall market’s blues!  Indigo and navy are particularly prevalent in case goods, like sideboards, consoles, and these gorgeous customizable nightstands from Vanguard.

Polished brassBrass is definitely here to stay, with high polished finishes joining the matte brass looks we saw at spring market.  Polished brass accents and hardware keep this element elegant and understated. We love the subtle shine of the polished brass ferrule on a Made Goods shagreen table!

Tapestries and dimensional wall art – Texture and dimension are setting the trend in artwork, with a focus on wall hangings and framed pieces made up of fabric, beads, and feathers.  At Natural Curiosities, we spotted an amazing piece by a San Francisco textile artist.  She block prints fabric and then partially deconstructs the piece, making it a one-of-a-kind modern tapestry and focal point in any room!  We love the subtle hint of pattern on the unravelled portion.

Lucite – As we noted in our spring Market roundup, 1980s-inspired design is here and gaining in popularity.  The key is minimalist design to keep it from looking too retro.  Sleek lucite pieces, like this fluid counter stool from Gabby  (with a gold frame!) have an ultra-modern vibe.

Butterflies – Nature elements continue to be an overarching theme, and butterflies are definitely a standout motif.  We spied them in artwork, wallpaper, throw pillows, and lighting.  Talk about a statement fixture – look at this handmade Italian glass fixture from Corbett Lighting!

With another market in the books, we’re looking forward to bringing some of these fabulous elements to our clients’ designs.  Which is your favorite?
