Smart Bathroom Design

Smart home tech allows us to see who is at the door, control the thermostat from our phones, and check that doors are closed while we’re at work.  As we mentioned in our recent bathroom trends blog, it’s only natural that these features have made their way into smart bathroom design as well!

Smart bathroom solutions tailored to your lifestyle

Do you want to catch up on the latest episode of your favorite podcast or get the weather report while getting ready in the morning?  You can say goodbye to setting up a cumbersome Bluetooth speaker or trying to keep your phone dry, thanks to Kohler’s Verdera mirror.  The LED mirror features embedded, fully-functional speakers that work with both Alexa and Google Home.  In addition, voice-controlled lighting allows for dimming while also functioning as a motion-activated nightlight.  As Kohler continues to roll out more of their smart bathroom features (such as the DTV+ showering system shown in the header photo), you’ll be able to control these with either the Verdera or the Kohler Konnect app.

Speaking of shower systems, Grohe’s SmartControl features a sleek panel with intuitive controls that allow you to customize your shower.  The buttons enable you to precisely program each aspect of the shower experience, from temperature to water volume.  No more fiddling with a knob trying to find the perfect balance between hot and cold here!  Many of our clients opt for not only showerheads, but also handshowers and body sprays.  Grohe anticipated this, and the SmartControl system is designed to control multiple outlets with one panel.

If baths are more your speed, smart tech is there for you as well.  Dornbracht’s Smart Water technology creates an intuitive experience for the bath, shower, and sink.  Its bathtub system allows you to use either the app or the display to preset your desired temperature and water level, and alerts you when your bath is ready.

What do you think of smart tech in the bathroom?  Is it for you?
