Take your home from winter to spring

As we impatiently count down the days until it really feels like spring here in Philadelphia, we look forward to finally bidding winter farewell!  With that in mind,  we rounded up some easy ways to refresh your home and transition from winter to spring.  Just a few small changes make a big difference, and will give you that cheerful “spring has sprung” feeling.

Three easy ways to transition from winter to spring

Just like your wardrobe, your home feels fresher and brighter when you change up things heading into warmer months.  With some simple swaps, you can lighten the mood!

Add accents

Decorative accents are some of the smallest and easiest ways to bring a breath of figurative fresh air.  A colorful wreath on the front door and fresh flowers in a new vase add color and life.  We also love switching up table linens and dishes for a lighter, more airy look.

Dig in

Evergreens are beautiful, but might be looking a bit tired now.  If you have a green thumb, dig into your spring planting and choose bright blooms or new shrubs.  This is a great way to elevate the exterior of your home, and it’s even better when you can enjoy the view from indoors as well!  If you tend to be a plant-killer, look into subscription container gardening services like Enliven Planters

Make moves

Sometimes a little change in perspective is just what you need.  While we design spaces for our interior design clients through careful consideration and space planning, you don’t have to feel that it’s set in stone.  Move a couple of vases from your home office to the entry console.  Switch throw pillows from chairs to the sofa.  It’s amazing how moving accents that you already love into slightly different places will change the vibe of a room, and if you don’t love it, you can always move them back!
