Our top 2020 blog posts

We use our weekly blog to feature our work, discuss design trends, and talk about ways to make home feel truly yours.  This year, the blog has offered a way for us to connect on an even more meaningful level.  We showed you our work-from-home setups and recommended ways to alleviate pain points that became all too apparent during the weeks of staying at home.  We also committed to supporting Black designers, artists, makers, and home goods businesses as we strive for racial equity in our industry.  As we look back on 2020, we wanted to share some of our most popular blog posts in case you missed them!

Design details: Throw pillows

Andrea has a deep and abiding love of throw pillows (seriously, having a conversation with her about them is a lot of fun!).  Early in the year, we turned the blog over to her to find out why she loves them so much and the different ways you can use them throughout your home.

How to determine a design budget

One of the most frequent questions we get from clients is “how do I determine a design budget?”  While the short answer is “it’s unique to every project,” we took this opportunity to dive into the components to consider.  We also offered our best tips and some rough estimates to help make it easier to see the whole picture.

2020 design trends

While we weren’t able to attend High Point Market this year, we stayed ahead of the newest, hottest design trends.  Our vendors went the extra mile with digital and print resources to keep us up to date.  It’s been fun sharing these with our clients as we kick off new projects!

Chestnut Hill renovation – Part 2

We really enjoy sharing our projects on the blog, and we’ve learned that people love to see the behind the scenes action.  For our top-to-bottom home renovation in Chestnut Hill, we featured in process shots and talked about some of the really unique features we’re incorporating.  It helps to connect the bridge between the before and after and adds a dash of reality; yes, the kitchen may look a little rough in the middle, but it’s going to be fabulous when the design comes together.

Meet the designer: Glenna

In our “meet the designer” series, we pulled back the curtain a bit to introduce readers to our design team.  When it was Glenna’s turn, she talked about everything from her career change to how owning a business teaches you lessons that apply to every facet of your life.  Of course, she also explains what she loves about design!

We look forward to bringing you even more great blog posts in 2021.  Happy new year!
