High Point Market Spring 2022

High Point Market Spring 2022 is in the books, and Andrea, Michelle, and Lauren are back home, full of information and inspiration from their marathon of showroom visits.  We’ve asked them to share trends and also personal faves from this Market!

High Point Market Spring 2002 recap

Andrea:

The trend that stood out most to me was textured fabric!  From a tailored bouclé sofa to fluffy, fuzzy faux fur on chairs and pillows as well as chunky, tonal wovens on headboards, texture was layered everywhere.  It showed up in interesting ways such as a velvet or leather contrasting welt on a pillow or with tufted buttons.

This stool at Ambella Home reminded me of a classic Chanel blazer.  Utterly timeless and sophisticated; it would look so perfect at a makeup vanity or in a dressing room.

One thing I really loved was seeing various layered textures across a range of aesthetics, from contemporary to traditional.  In particular, I noted that both a curved contemporary sofa and a traditional, clean-lined sofa incorporated this trend in ways that felt authentic to their individual styles.

This chair from Interlude Home was hands down my favorite piece.  The faux fur was unexpected and fun, and elevated the experience of sitting in a chair.  The fabric was lush and enveloping, but its sleek wood arms added balance.  I didn’t want to get up; it felt like a hug!  It truly created a whole cozy and swanky vibe for me, and I think that’s something that a lot of people have really come to value in their homes.

Michelle:

On the trend side, I noticed that curves are still going strong! It’s interesting to see how pieces play with lines in a combination of form and function; it can really change up the look of a space just by tweaking the silhouette.  Ambella Home featured an oversized sectional with a curved chaise that Glenna spotted last spring (definitely showing the staying power of curved seating) so Lauren tested it out.

Personally, I loved Hickory Chair’s showroom. I think all of the pieces that I saw and tried were great quality.  I also really liked that they offer selections spanning a range of styles from traditional to transitional to contemporary!

Lauren:

I noticed that big color trends throughout Market were chartreuse, yellow, melon, and coral. It feels like vendors are trying to add a citrus-y twist in sophisticated ways without being too retro or loud.  It was a fresh take on some newer shades that I spotted in items like lighting, pillows, and walls.  You can see a few examples in this single shot from Bungalow 5!

I loved the Mark D Sikes collection at Chaddock! If I turned into a room it would be this one. My personal style is more preppy grand-millennial and this room captures it all. I think this could be a trend to look out for next market as well.
