Readers’ Choice: The Top Blogs of 2023
Near the end of each year, we bring you the “Best Of” list. It is a compilation of your favorite blog posts. It’s interesting to see which topics, trends or tips makes the cut. This year, the list runs the gamut from home reveals to Glenna’s headline-making turn at the world’s largest home show. Follow along, beloved reader, to see if your favorites are on the list.
#5: Fabulous Family Rooms
Homes’ most loved gathering spaces were one of your highlights. Ours, too. We love designing family rooms where everyone can kick back, relax, enjoy game nights or binge on must-see TV. The four spaces we spotlighted are distinctly different stylistically but all feature the laid-back, family-centered designs GSID is known for. It’s okay if you feel a little FOMO. We can help with that, too.
#4: Accessory Styling Services
No surprise when this one made your top 5. Accessories are the jewelry (or shoes, or makeup, whatever is your fave metaphor) for every room. Add the right ones in the right amount and you’re on the red carpet. Miss the mark and your room can look like it belongs on one of those back-of-magazine “what were they thinking?” pages. At GSID, we can style your spaces with just-right accessories and décor that will bring out their beauty and elicit wows all around.
#3: Oreland Home Reveal
We all love a peek at stunning spaces and the Oreland home, featured in our June 15th post, was one of your winners. Everything about the design seemed to resonate with our readers. The combination of a bright, light backdrop with colorful accents inspired by a sentimental fabric pattern that we were able to incorporate beautifully showcased this property. Add a mix of wood tones, lovely art, and subtly-patterned rugs and voilà, a main floor stunner.
#2: East Chestnut Hill Reveal
Another great home showcase, this beauty in East Chestnut Hill blends updated classic design with airy environments and chic, modern elements. We had the pleasure of re-imagining and designing most of the home, from the main floor re-do to the primary bedroom. Plus, that office! Enough said.
#1: The World of Home Furnishings is Our Playground
Thanks for making this our top story of 2023. Glenna and the team are amazing, creative, success-driven designers. On top of that, our intrepid leader is a bona fide design industry leader. Her knowledge and connections give us the inside track with furniture, lighting, and rug vendors; we collaborate with under-the-radar resources for antiques; and, she has created a network of colleagues and compadres that help us target almost any product or tradesmith we might need. It’s a heady and helpful combination for our clients and we’re happy to have shared a smidge of it with you.
